Korčula (42° 58'N; 17° 08'E)

Korčula harbour is not an easy place to moor comfortably (unless, of course, you manage to obtain a spot in ACI Marina). The town is situated along Peljeski Kanal, the narrow strait between the island of Korčula and Pelješac peninsula. This channel runs east-west. Thus, easterly winds cause serious swell on one side of the town, and westerly winds cause the swell on the other side.

Anchoring is forbidden in the various coves where cables and pipes reach the island. That’s quite a few around Korčula.

The quay on the eastern side of town is used by ferry services. Short moorings are possible on the western side of town. Depth is more than enough for regular yachts.
