Lovišće - Šćedro (43° 06'N; 16° 42.5'E)

Lovišće is a deep bay situated on the northern side of the island of Šćedro, which can be found on the southern side of the island of Hvar (10 – 15 NM east of the town of Hvar). It is a beautiful place to spend the night, as long as the wind is not coming from a northerly direction. Šćedro is a relatively small island, but it is inhabited. Unfortunately the bay is not completely quiet at night: the restaurants that are found along its shores use generators for their electricity.

The bay cannot be missed: the eastern side of its entrance is marked with a red light beacon.

Lovišće offers good protection against all winds except northerly. If that happens, you better move to Uvala Čarnejni on the southern side of Šćedro. The bottom consists of sand and mud, offering a good holding ground for your anchor. Depth varies from 3 – 30 meters.

In one of the side-bays a restaurant has put some mooring buoys. Picking one up means eating at the restaurant.
