Uvala Nečujam (Šolta) (43° 23'N; 16° 19'E)

Uvala Nečujam is a deep bay on the northern shore of the island of Šolta. This place is excellent as a first or last stopover from Split. It has a good anchoring ground, and it is also excellent for swimming and snorkelling.

The bay has several coves extending to east and west. It is suitable for all winds except Bura, which causes heavy swell. In Bura, it is better to go elsewhere, e.g. Maslinica of Uvala Šešula on the western coast of Šolta. Scirocco can also cause a considerable swell.

(c) HHI. Not to be used for navigation.

One bay further to the west you will find the town of Rogač, with nautical a gasstation, shops, post-office, ATM, doctor and a ferry service to Split. The square red tower with red beacon on Rat Bad, the eastern tip of Rogač bay, cannot be missed. Between Rogač bay and Uvala Nečujam is a shallow area, maximum depth 4 – 5 meters.

Because this bay is well situated for a First stopover after leaving Split, or a last stopover before returning to Split, it can be rather busy. Especially for the nights Thursday to Friday and Saturday to Sunday.
