Vinogradisce Cove ('Palmižana 2' - 43° 09.5'N; 16° 22'E)
The name Palmižana is used for various locations. It is a small village on the island of Sveti Klement. That is one of the Pakleni Otoci on the southern side of Hvar. The name is also used for the ACI Marina on the northern side of Sveti Klement. And, last but not least, the name is used for a bay on the southern side of Sveti Klement, which is officially called Uvala Vinogradisce. That is the one I describe here, marked below with a red circle. Uvala Vinogradisce is a good alternative when Hvar is full (which happens all the time from late May to September).
It is a good bay to anchor for the night. It gets busy there during the season, but the bay easily holds 20 yachts. It is sheltered against all winds apart from southwesterlies. At the centre of the bay, the depth ranges from 6 – 10 meters.
The (smaller) restaurant on the eastern shore is supposed to be the better one, and higher up the hill you will find Restaurant Meneghello as well.
Good alternatives for Uvala Vinogradisce are Taršće and Soline, both further west. Below some ‘approach pictures’ from the eastern entrance, as well as pictures from the bay itself.
