Uvala Stončica - Vis (43° 04'N; 16° 15'E)

Uvala Stončica is a deep bay, situated on the northeastern tip of the island Vis, 0.4 NM west of the lighthouse bearing the same name, and 1.5 NM east of the town of Vis. The bay offers good protection, except against northerlies (Tramontana) and northeasterlies (Bura). When the wind is northerly, you better get out of here.

(c) HHI. Not to be used for navigation.

You can anchor in the small inlet on the western shore, or in the southern part of the bay. Rocky bottom with good holding. There are a few restaurants in the southern section of the bay, however, they were all closed when we were there mid-September. For the rest, it is very quiet and a good alternative for busy Vis.

Unfortunately, we do not have any pictures of this bay. We arrived around sunset and left before sunrise.
