Telašćica National Park - Uvala Mir en Uvala Tripuljak (43° 54'N; 15° 09.5'E)

This is a national park which covers most of the south-eastern side of the island of Dugi Otok. It has a bay that stretches deep inland, with hardly any ‘civilisation’ to be found. The bay offers some great anchorages for ships in all sorts and sizes. There are mooring buoys in most coves, so that the underwater life does not get damaged. The tariff for a mooring in the national park is 50 kuna per person per night in 2006. They do take your garbage away for that…

We spent the night in Uvala Tripuljak, the cove northwest of Uvala Mir. It is a bay on the wouth-western side of the national park. It is well-protected against most winds, only Bura and Sirocco can cause some stir. We found shelter against a north-westerly storm here, and it was perfect.

The south-easterly section of the bay (Uvala Mir) is not so quiet. There is a steady stream of tourist ships during the day, dropping visitors for Jezero Mir, a brackish-water lake in the National Park.
